The Business Strategy “Shark Tank” Challenge 2020 is here!

Calling all postgraduate students across India to participate in a stimulating and inspiring business case on “Dalton Convention Center: A Beacon or White Elephant?”

This is your opportunity to make your mark, showcase your business analysis, strategy, and presentation skills in front of prominent corporate decision-makers.

1. Analyze a case published by IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants).
2. Develop cutting-edge solutions to a complex set of problems using the skills you have learned at university.
3. Present your creative solutions to leading industry experts.

Round 1 Case Analysis Submission Analyze a case published by IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants).

Time : 11:59 PM

Final Presentation All case analysis submissions undergo a preliminary evaluation by senior IMA members who are all CMA certified. The top five teams will be selected and notified no later than 20th October 2020.

Team Composition:
1. Each campus of any B-School/College/University is eligible to select a team(s) of three to five members.
2. Only Master’s degree students are eligible for this competition. Students must be currently enrolled full-time in a PG program within India to be selected as a team.
3. Final year students who have already appeared for their exams or are yet to appear for the same owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, are not eligible for registration.
4. Although faculty members are encouraged to promote or mentor this competition on their campus, no faculty or other professional assistance is allowed in solving or presenting the case.

Each entry must include:
1. PowerPoint presentation that contains your case analysis
2. Presentation slides should not be exceeding 40 slides
3. We will provide you with the link to upload your presentation by 30th September 2020
4. Late submission will not be accepted

Final Competition:
At the finals competition, each of the finalist teams will:
1. Personally present their case analysis solution
2. Be required to respond to additional questioning on which they will be judged. Judges are representatives from industry and academia

Awards:
Each team member and faculty advisor receives a certificate of participation. The first, second, and third place will receive an engraved plaque with their college/university’s name and each team member’s name in addition to the monetary award.



First Place: USD 750
Second Place: USD 500
Third Place: USD 250

Rules for Submission of Case Analysis Presentation:
1. Presentations will be limited to no more than twenty minutes. Any presentation exceeding this time limit will be penalized in the judging process.
2. Each team member is required to have an equal part in the presentation.
3. Presentations will be judged on content, style, and response to case requirements.
4. Visual aids will be judged on their contribution to the presentation.
5. No handouts/written materials will be sent to the judges as part of the evaluation process.
6. No names of the team members or their universities or colleges should be included in the case analysis or within the file name submitted.
7. Fictitious names can be used in the introduction of the solution if it is warranted. The judges will not know the names of any of the teams’ schools that they are judging.
8. Judges will use multiple criteria in evaluating the presentations, including the technical content, presentation skills, case analysis style, presentation organization, and strength of recommendations and conclusions based on case requirements.
9. Reading of notecards is strongly discouraged.
